Combat effects of noisy daily living

13/08/10
THE negative effects of noisy modern living can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, sleep problems and downright annoyance, according to personal trainer Sara McCarthy.Miss McCarthy points to World Health Organisation figures that appear to indicate a quarter of the population of Europe has had their sensory perceptions dulled by our increasingly fast-paced environment.
To combat this she has developed a system through which people can learn how to use their own voices to create deep relaxation, re-energise the body and clear the mind.
Using the Gaia Co-op shop in Regents Place, Leamington, she will demonstrate the power of voice, through mantra, breathing techniques and laughter, as part of a six week course run from 11.30am until 1.30pm on Saturdays.
Miss McCarthy, who has a company in Coventry called Performance Frequency, explained: "When our senses are overwhelmed by so much background noise, it is easy to forget that we can use our senses to look after ourselves.
"The human voice is a powerful tool and simply by using that power, we can create a strong body, clear mind and a light heart."
The course costs £107. To find out more contact Miss McCarthy on 07876 298613 or visit www.performancefrequency.com
